Recent Events at FSBC

• WILDERNESS ADVENTURE CAMP  -  From June 16-27, more than twenty boys and girls participated in this day camp that teaches children the basics of camping and hiking.  The camp includes 7-8 hikes in 10 days, weather permitting, and allows kids to experiences the area's abundance of wilderness.  The kids learned cooking, camping and hiking skills, outdoor safety, first aid, and how to work together as a team.  The camp included Bible lessons and games, too.  On the last Thursday night of the camp, parents were invited to an overnight camp-out with their kids at Little Pine State Park.

• MISSION TRIP TO ROMANIA -  In late June thru early July, three young adults joined a team going to Romania to assist a church in Apahida with renovation and construction.  Although renovating the church was a big reason why the team went, it became clear that the Lord wanted them to minister to the kids and show them His love.  Each day more and more children would show up at the local park, (close to the church).  The team shared testimonies, the Gospel, and played lots of soccer with the kids.  Nearly 20 of them prayed to receive Christ as their Savior, and several joined in the church service the last Sunday the team was there.  It is the prayer of these team members that God will continue to work in the hearts of the people in Apahida.

• MISSION TRIP TO HONDURAS -  Also in late June, early July, one adult woman joined a team going to Hogar Renacer Sanctuary in Honduras.  The Sanctuary is a home for orphaned children.  Team members helped prepare the ground around the pool and helped clear area for skateboarding.  The team also took the children to a water park, a picnic, and showed a "Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe" cartoon in the school auditorium..  While there, the team worshipped with the Brigade of Christian Love church in Cofradia.

• "MARRIAGE FOR DUMMIES" - Tools for a Strong Marriage  was held on Saturday, April 19 and covered  topics such as communication, conflict, male and female differences, personality differences, love languages, how to overcome temptation and God at the center of your marriage. Guest speaker was Pastor Todd Cravens.

• The congregation recently put together a CHURCH COOKBOOK that includes some of our best-loved recipes.  The cookbooks are available for purchase (call the church office) and all proceeds go to support the youth group.
